Child Protection

A responsibility of the whole community

It is this centre’s duty of care and philosophy to provide an environment that is safe for all children attending the service. The main focus of this policy is to address the prevention of and response to child protection. As early childhood workers we are placed in a position of trust to protect young children.

All staff are mandatory reporters and are legally obliged to report suspected child abuse to the helpline (133 627) without notification to the parent.

We have a comprehensive child protection policy which is included in your enrolment pack. The centre has lots of information on child protection which can be found in the parent library and the parent information rack. The centre will endeavour to support families of children with specific protection needs.

COURT ORDERS

Parents must notify the Service if there are any Court Orders affecting residency of their children and a copy is required for the Service. Without a Court Order, we cannot stop a parent collecting your child. Please talk to us if there is a sensitive issue.

What other's say

I just wanted to send you a quick email to say we miss our Little Diggers family a lot! We hope you’re all well, we continue to keep track of all the wonderful activities via social media.

I wanted to give you a little update on Miss Bronte...

As you would well know, Bronte at times can be quite shy and reserved and at drop off time could be a little sad, but she was well prepared for her transition to school thanks to all of your efforts (& probably her big sister Char too).

We had a bit of a rocky start to school with tears and not being able to find friends/making new friends was a bit tricky and the school playground was just so BIG!!!

But can I tell you, we are now at the end of term 3 and wow has she come a long way.

Bronte last week did a speech (with palm cards) to all of her classmates and was shortlisted to the finals this week (this is the same little girl who a year ago hid behind me at the Little Diggers gate). And two week ago she was voted by her peers as SRC representative for her class.

She is also excelling in her reading, writing and maths.

She has a truly wonderful teacher, but I can’t help but share this news with you all as you laid the solid foundation for her to grow and I wanted you to hear and see the fruits of your loving labour.

So thank you all,

Kylie
