Useful Resources & Links

In the community and around the home...

Over the years, we've collected a pile of resources which parents often ask us about - from speech therapists and Occupational therapy, through to some great recipes to get the kids eating healthy, and even places and things to do/see which we thought we'd share with you. We are not affiliated with any of these links/resources - it's just info that's crossed our desk and we thought you might find it useful.

Wannabees Indoor Play Centre

Wannabees is a totally unique indoor play centre-this great, new family spot combines fun with learning. Wannabees is a mini city with 14 play and learn attractions. At each city location, children will learn about different jobs and professions through interactive, directed play. Kids choose from over 40 jobs- from fireman to hairdresser-put on a uniform and start their make-believe shift! Your little busy bee will spend about an hour learning and playing in their chosen occupation, then get paid pretend money and visit all the other locations in the city to “spend” it – save it in the bank, or find out what it could buy them at the shops and services. Session times last about three hours. Kids will play, learn, interact, develop new skills and use up lots of energy! There’s also a traditional 4 level play structure and rock climbing wall to clamber on before or after role play and to keep the younger kids entertained. Kids 0-1 y.o free, 1-4 y.o $12.90, 5-14 y.o $18.50, Adults $4.00. Mon-Tue 9:30 to 1:00 pm, Wed-Fri 9:30 to 6:00 pm, Sat-Sun 9:30 to 5:00 pm.   |   website...

Manly Waterworks

With fully supervised giant slides and a large spectator viewing area, Manly Waterworks is the perfect place for an action packed, fun, safe and easy day out with the kids. There are 4 slides of varying speeds- ride the twisted Cobra, dare the slippery python or slither in the blackened tube of the Insane Earthworm…this place packs a serious adrenelene punch! Waterworks is great fun for kids and grownups alike-just try to resist acting like the biggest kid in the family while careening down a slide at great speed! Entry is based on height-kids must be over 120cm tall-which pretty much excludes the under 6s. If you’re not sure, make sure you measure before you go to avoid total heartbreak! It’s not cheap but a day pass is better value and it really is a great special day out. Waterworks is right in the heart of Manly and just next door to Oceanworld so why not combine your trip to a stop there and a wander down the Corso for lunch? Open from 10.00 am - 5.00 pm Weekends and Public Holidays from October through to Easter
